a few tips for the apple:
- if you want to minimize your tummy, avoid bulky clothing, thick fabrics or anything that can add bulk such as ruffles.
- fabric that is structural, and not flimsy or clingy will help to create clean lines and shape.
- try wearing lots of V-necks to elongate your silhouette and bring attention up toward your bust, neck and face.
- as an apple, you probably have great legs, so show them off with some at knee or above the knee skirts.
- a V-neck A-line cotton dress is ideal for apples.

Dammit T, I am going to wind up buying that eShakti dress after all if you keep this up...
ReplyDeleteI love the stuff you pick out on this blog! Sadly though I have to stay away from eshakti clothes, I had nothing but awful results the couple times I ordered from them :(
ReplyDeleteThey're tempting, though!!
I have trouble figuring out if I'm an apple or hourglass shape. I'd guess apple bc my upper and lower belly/hips/ass are the biggest part of me but yet in between the two rolls I have a sharply defined waistline. As in I have junk in my trunk and it sticks out, LOL.
hi! welcome =)
ReplyDeletei am definitely more on the pear side, tho i can get away with wearing hourglass stuff because of my broad shoulders. i too have lotsa junk in my trunk ;)
i've only purchased one dress from eshakti so far and had to do lots of customization to it and it still needs more work. i'll give them another shot, and next time i'll order w/measurement customizations and see how it goes.
Yep, I did the customization too. I tried a top (which came to me looking so far from the photo it was amazing) and a dress which even if it hadn't looked like something I could have sewn back in Home Ec, lacked the proper material. You don't use a stiff, dense cotton for a "flowy" wrap dress for a big girl, or any size, really. Oye.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course they won't refund shipping and customization.
I hope you get better results from them than I did!! I am definitely going to keep tabs on your feed, I love your style.
a friend of mine orders from them all the time. i do know that she tends more toward the cotton dresses. i'm going to try ordering a cotton sheath dress and see how it goes.
ReplyDeleteand welcome! hooray for new readers =)
